Strážovská 50

Strážovská 50 is a mountain ultramarathon and a long distance marach with  50km / +2500 m ultra course, which will be held in 2026 on Saturday, May 9. The route of this mountain ultramarathon and long-distance march, starts and finishes in the spa town of Trenčianske Teplice and passes through the beautiful surrounding mountains Strážovské vrchy. 

The highest points reached are the peaks of Baske and Vápeč (both are 955 m). Deep forests, vast meadows, a steep ascent to Vápeč and wonderful views are the backdrop for the event, which has already had several successful editions. The organizer of the event is o.z. SLOVAK ULTRA TRAIL.

The route, with parameters of 50 km / +2500 m, leads from Trenčianske Teplice along the red trail above Čvirigovec, then through Petrovanské Lúky and the saddle to Trubárka to Petrová Lehota. Not far past it is the first refreshment station. The route continues to Veľké Lúky and via Uhliská climbs to the Baske hut, where local hikers from KST usually delight participants with bonus refreshments. From Baske, the route follows the blue trail to the Trtávka saddle and after Židový joins the red trail, which leads participants to the second refreshment station at the Partizán buffet in the Homôlka saddle. This is followed by a fairly steep ascent and then a beautiful ridge with views into the valley, as well as challenging sections. From Srvátková lúka, the route follows the red trail, with a highlight being the steep climb to the cross on the summit of Vápeč. The descent to Horná Poruba is also demanding, but the reward, after the panoramic view from Vápeč, is the third refreshment station just before Horná Poruba. The last part of the route is less technically demanding, dominated by wide forest paths and roads with occasional meadows. The climb to the Omšenská Baba and Kamenné vráta saddles is still challenging. From Kýšky, the route turns onto a green trail, which leads participants all the way to Trenčianske Teplice. Then it’s just a run to the finish line with the final stretch along the promenade.

In addition to the Men and Women categories, the Strážovská 50 route can also be completed in categories with a dog.

Strážovská 50 2026 is a part of the 12th edition of Slovak Ultratrail League (Men and Womern categories, the category 50 km with a dog brings points for the Ranking based on participation contest). The course of Strážovská 50 has been certified by ITRA (2 points) and it is contained in the list of ITRA National League races.
